Now it is time to get everyone up to speed! I am currently working at Southern Arkansas University as the assistant athletic trainer and an ATEP (athletic training education program) instructor. This actually is working out great because Chris is getting to finish his school for free!!! He still lacks three semesters, which includes his student teaching, which means that he will be graduating in May 2010. He will be a certified teacher and coach when he is done. It is safe to say that we (Chris and I) are in a close race to who will be happiest when he is done! Anyway, because of me getting the job at SAU we are able to see each other a lot more. Some days we even get to eat lunch together and that used to be unheard of!
As many of you may know, Chris and I had decided that we were ready to start a family about two years ago and if you know much about science you should figure out that we are having some trouble. We decided to see an infertility specialist this past fall. We have been told that they think that they can help us. I am currently taking my second round of medication. We will try this again for a couple of months and then if still no success we will move one to more aggressive measures such as IUI or invitro. This has been a pretty big emotional stress on me but Chris seems to be taking it in stride. He is always my anchor. God really knew that I would need a man like Chris in my life.
In many ways I am glad that we have been going through this struggle. 1. It has brought Chris and I much closer together with each other and in our walk with Christ. 2. We are learning that all things in life are a gift from God, one His time and in His way. 3. We are determined that once God blesses us with children we will raise them to honor and glorify him. I don’t want to sound all “biblically smart” I promise all who have not been living this day to day with us that these realizations sis not happen over night. Many thanks to my mom for all the wisdom that she instills in me on a daily basis, but the best is Psalm 37:4 Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart! How awesome is it to not only hear that but know that He does what He says!! It’s just great.
Anyway, we will keep you up to speed on our process. The best news of today is that Chris and I are getting to go on a holiday vacation! Yay for us. We are going to Hilton Head, SC on December 19 and will be coming back to my parent’s house on Christmas Eve. Stay around for vacation pictures!
